The Evergreen™ is a three-duct energy recovery ventilator (ERV). It uses single-point exhaust to condition outdoor air for optimum IAQ and energy efficiency.
RenewAire, a leader in HVAC innovation and indoor air quality (IAQ), has introduced the Evergreen™ series. These residential energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) feature single-point exhaust with energy recovery capabilities. Evergreen SH is a three-duct ERV with a built-in return grille, and ducted supply, exhaust, and outside airstreams. Designed for convenient localized extraction, this ERV is ideal for applications like bathrooms, laundry rooms, and smaller-sized residential spaces (i.e., apartments, condominiums).
Introducing the Evergreen SH: Advanced IAQ for Small Spaces
The Evergreen Series’ first entry is the Evergreen SH (model number EG-110SB-H020-XEO), an upgraded bath fan that uses energy recovery technology and provides an airflow range of 25–130 CFM. In a single compact housing the unit simultaneously exhausts humid, odorous bathroom air and supplies fresh tempered outdoor air directly to a nearby room or HVAC duct. This outside fresh air is tempered by use of RenewAire’s 5th generation energy recovery core that efficiently recovers energy from the exhaust airstream and transfers it to the supply without the two airstream coming into direct contact or mixing within the core.
Smart Airflow Selection and Automated Self-Balancing
The unit operates as a single-speed device at either one of three preprogrammed quick-select minimum airflows or anywhere within the full operating range with the variable airflow setpoint. The preprogrammed quick-select airflow setpoints use proprietary software to automatically adjust the electronically commutated (EC) motorized impellers to self-balance airflows and maintain a minimum exhaust airflow at 30, 40, or 50 CFM from 0.2 to 0.4 in. w.g. ESP. Additionally, a variable constant-speed range (25–130 CFM) accommodates various applications, while flexible control methods—including countdown timers and manual switches—support both continuous and intermittent use. Quick and easier airflow selection combined with the automated self-balancing feature ultimately relieves contractors of labor-intensive onsite setups.
Compact, Low-Profile Design for Easy Installation
The Evergreen Series has a small 20″ (L) x 17″ (W) x 11-3/4″ (D)-inch footprint. The unit’s low profile that fits inside most ceiling joist or ceiling cavity configurations is made possible by 5-inch oval exhaust/supply connections versus circular openings. Steel mounting flanges are integrated for easy installation.
As noted earlier, a unique feature of Evergreen is that it requires only three ducts, because the grille supplants the exhaust connection. The unit requires minimal maintenance other than changing the return air and outdoor air filter, which are both easily accessible after the grille removal.
Key Features of the Evergreen Series ERV
Efficient backward curved EC motorized impellers,
MERV 7 filter with filter slots that accommodate optional MERV 13 outside air filtration,
Grille designed to cover unit-to-drywall voids,

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What makes the Evergreen™ Series different from other RenewAire residential ERVs?
While our standard single-family residential systems (like the award-winning EV Premium Series) typically utilize standard ducted setups to manage whole-house airflow, the Evergreen™ Series introduces single-point localized exhaust. It is explicitly designed for tight, targeted spaces like bathrooms and laundry rooms. By combining an elegant built-in return grille with a three-duct design, it completely replaces traditional localized exhaust fans while delivering advanced, balanced energy recovery ventilation.
How do RenewAire systems improve indoor air quality (IAQ) compared to a standard exhaust fan?
Indoor air quality is improved by introducing continuous, balanced ventilation that effectively dilutes indoor pollutants (like moisture, odors, and VOCs). A conventional exhaust fan is a “negative-pressure” system—it simply pulls stale air out of a room, forcing unconditioned, unfiltered outdoor air to leak into the home through cracks and gaps in the building envelope.
In contrast, RenewAire ERVs provide energy-efficient, balanced ventilation. They simultaneously exhaust stale indoor air and supply fresh outdoor air in equal amounts. What sets an ERV apart from a standard fan is its ability to recover the heating or cooling energy from the outgoing airstream and apply it to the incoming fresh air. This ensures you get the clean air benefits of high ventilation rates without the massive energy penalty or comfort issues associated with raw outdoor air. Furthermore, incoming fresh air can be filtered through an optional MERV 13 filter to trap fine allergens and dust before it enters the living space.

How much maintenance do RenewAire ERV systems require?
RenewAire residential lines are engineered for effortless, low-frequency maintenance. Because they do not use a drain pan, you never have to worry about cleaning standing water or clearing blocked drainage traps. Maintenance is as simple as inspecting and replacing the disposable air filters every three months, and using a soft brush vacuum attachment to gently clean the four static-plate core faces once a year. The core itself never requires washing and is backed by an industry-leading 10-year warranty.
